Animal Cruelty in Australia

This diagram shows all the key forces that are helping/ stopping the suffering of farm animals. Tragically for the animals the negative forces (red arrows) far outweigh the positive ones. There are about 500 million animals and another 500 million fish that suffer death by a thousand cuts each year in Australia and the numbers continue to increase. We need to find the magic 'Archimedes' lever that will cause a massive reduction in suffering in a short time. The Achilles heal of the red forces may turn out to be the hypocritical laws that protect producer groups from prosecution. A civilised country would not tolerate these 'cop out' laws for long. So why are we?
