Waiting For Visitors To Show Up?
August 13th, 2009 by Gary Hipworth

To only focus on oneself would be like living in a house where no-one visits.  It is a strange thing about man that he can only live by looking to the future, or as that old saying goes, ‘man does not live by bread alone’.

If we want to find true fulfilment we must transcend ourselves, go beyond our purely selfish needs and find a field of activity, and a bigger purpose and meaning to our existence.

Viktor Frankl’s experiences in surviving Auschwitz * convinced him that a man can and must find meaning in his life for a fulfilled existence and meaning can eventuate from three causes:

1. What one accomplishes or gives to the world with one’s creations

2. What one experiences in terms of encounters with others and with nature and...

3. One’s stand towards a fate that one cannot change.
